With a thumb to suck and a beard to pull, Atticus will sit on any stranger's lap.
Atticus is sitting on the lap of Father Christmas, who formed the ideas we associate with Santa Claus in the U.S. According to Wikipedia, this magical Christmas giant came as a result of merging Norse and Anglo-Saxon paganism with Christianity in the 7th and 8th centuries. Woden was a giant Norse god and grim reaper.
So this guy is like Dickens' ghost of Christmas present AND the ghost of Christmas yet to come.
It's further proof that the idea of Santa can be sort of creepy, even when he's not watching you take a shower.
